Violinist Henja Semmler studied with Rainer Kussmaul, Thomas Brandis, and Gerhard Schulz and received prizes at the Louis Spohr Competition, the German Music Competition, and the German University Music Competition. In 2006, she co-founded the Oberon Trio, with which she has since performed at major concert halls and festivals and released several recordings.
At the age of 17, she made her debut as a soloist in the Grand Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie. She was a founding member of both the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and regularly appears as guest concertmaster with ensembles including the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Resonanz, Munich Chamber Orchestra, and Kammerakademie Potsdam.
She is Professor of Violin at the Rostock University of Music and Drama (HMT Rostock).
